Lee Kum Kee Black Bean Sauce is made from the classic Sichuanese combination of fermented black beans and garlic. A spoonful of the rich, savory sauce adds great depth to braised dishes and fries. Lee Kum Kee is widely regarded as the best maker of Chinese cooking sauces, and their garlic black bean sauce does not disappoint.

The sauce is a real time saver, and a spoonful goes a very long way. Aside from using the black bean sauce in wok-fried fries, experiment - a spoonful with a little lemon and oil makes a delicious fish marinade, or even take inspiration from Ken Hom and try replicating his kaiping dish of bitter melon in a garlic black bean sauce.
